We all want to change and know that change is part of the Christian life, but how often do we really think through all of the ways that God is graciously at work bringing about sanctification in our lives? This series helps us give thought to this topic and be encouraged by the many ways God is at work in us and through us.
There are practical ways to draw out an idol of the heart in a counselee. A turning point in counseling is when the counselee recognizes that a desire, even a good desire, has become a ruling idol. The counselor is always to be thinking, “What is the counselee worshiping?” An understanding of idolatry for practical application in counseling is foundational.
